Due to the tie vote for one Village Trustee seat between MacGuire Benton and Mary-Margaret
Robbins a run-off election will be held on September 29, 2020 at the Cooperstown Fire Hall, 24
Chestnut Street, Cooperstown between the hours of Noon and 9 p.m. for the above-mentioned
candidates. Absentee ballots for village residents are also available by application at the Village
Clerk’s Office or by downloading the application on the homepage of our website
Due to the very short turn-around time, it is recommended that applicants do not rely on
obtaining their applications or ballots by mail but rather turn their application in at the Village
Clerk’s office and receive their absentee by hand delivery or designating someone on the
application to pick it up for you.
The Village Clerk’s office will hold special hours the week of September 21 to provide
applications for absentee ballots, hand delivery of ballots and receipt of completed ballots.
Additional hours are Tuesday, September 22 from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, September
24 from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, September 26 from 8:00 a.m. to Noon.
Absentee ballots must be returned no later than close of polls (9:00 p.m.) on Tuesday,
September 29. On the 29 th , ballots must be brought to the Fire Hall after the regular closing
time of 4:00 p.m. at the Village Clerk’s Office.
