The Village of Cooperstown has scheduled a Public Information Meeting on Wednesday April 10, 2019 at 6 pm in the Ballroom at Village Hall, 22 Main Street, Cooperstown. The meeting will provide an overview of work which will begin this spring on two Village projects – the Transportation Enhancement Project (TEP) and the Doubleday Renovation Project.
The first portion of the meeting will focus on the TEP with representatives in attendance from Barton and Loguidice , the project engineer, as well as Upstate Companies, the construction firm completing the work. As planned, the improvements begun last fall on Pioneer Street will be completed and additional work will begin on Main Street, east of Pioneer. The TEP project will include new decorative street lamp posts on Pioneer, replacement of portions of the sidewalk on Pioneer and Main, as well as new wayfinding signage, benches, trash receptacles, bike racks and a drinking fountain. All TEP street work planned for spring 2019 will conclude prior to the Friday of Memorial Day Weekend.
The second portion of the Information Meeting will focus on the Doubleday Renovation Project. The Village recently awarded the bid for the demolition of the deteriorated 3rd base bleachers to Upstate Industries. Work will begin as soon as possible this spring and a proposed schedule for the demolition and debris removal will be provided.
The public is encouraged to attend this Village update at which the work schedule will be shared and there will be an opportunity for questions.
